Advance Gwich’in Rights, Priorities, and Nation-building

The Gwich’in Tribal Council is seeking an experienced and politically astute Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic, political, and administrative leadership at an important point in the organization’s work.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the CEO will work closely with the Grand Chief, Board of Directors, and Executive to advance GTC’s longer-term direction, contribute to major organizational decisions and ensure that Gwich’in interests and rights are represented in relationships with other governments. The CEO’s defined portfolio includes Government Affairs, Implementation, Communications, and Lands & Resources.

Based in Inuvik, the successful candidate will bring sound judgement, integrity, and political acuity, together with the ability to build trust across differing perspectives. This is an opportunity to support effective governance, strengthen alignment and help translate strategic and policy direction into coordinated action in service to Gwich’in Participants, communities, and the Nation.
