The Value of Consistency

Last year, when Pathways was recognized as one of Canada’s leading executive search firms, we wrote about reciprocity, reflecting on the relationships that make our work possible and the responsibility we feel to walk alongside clients, candidates, and communities with care and respect.

A year later, another word comes to mind: consistency.

Executive search is all about trust. At Pathways, organizations trust us with leadership decisions that can shape their future. Candidates trust us with career aspirations, questions, concerns, and sometimes difficult decisions. And communities trust us to understand the context in which leadership exists and the responsibilities that come with it.

That trust isn’t earned all at once. It’s built through conversations, listening, and following through on commitments. And by approaching each search with the same care and attention, whether it’s a first conversation with a new client or a relationship we’ve nurtured for years.

As Pathways has grown, we keep returning to a simple question: what do we want people to experience when they find us?

We want them to experience a firm that values relationships and approaches executive search as more than a transaction; and a team that believes leadership matters because good leadership creates opportunities for others to thrive.

“Change is constant. Relationships are what endure,” says Laurie Sterritt, Pathways’ founder and CEO. “The work we’re most proud of doesn’t end when we make a placement. It shows up in the relationships that continue years later, when clients come back to us, candidates stay in touch, and communities trust us to work with them again.”

We are grateful to once again be included on Forbes’ list of Canada’s Best Executive Recruiting Firms for 2026. More importantly, we are grateful for the trust that makes that recognition possible.

In a profession built on relationships, there is no greater measure of success. For us, that will always be the path forward.
