Position: Human Resources Director

Mushuau Innu First Nation (MIFN) is seeking a Human Resources Director to establish and lead the Nation’s Human Resources function in support of the community’s values, people, and long-term priorities. One of only two Innu communities in Newfoundland and Labrador, Mushuau Innu First Nation is located in Natuashish, surrounded by a vast and culturally significant land base. The community’s history, resilience, and strong connection to the land continue to shape a forward-looking approach to governance, sustainability, and community wellbeing. 

Reporting to the Band Manager, the HR Director plays a foundational leadership role, building the Nation’s HR department and strengthening people centred practices across the organization. The role is responsible for recruitment, policy development, performance management, training, and workforce development, while fostering respectful, collaborative relationships with Council, staff, community members, and external partners.
