Pathways recommends NVision’s The Path!
Everything we do at Pathways is focused on supporting meaningful reconciliation between Indigenous peoples and communities and broader society. Education is an important tool for building greater cultural awareness and understanding of Indigenous histories in Canada.
Since 2021, we have been encouraging our clients and broader network to explore a suite of learning opportunities around Truth and Reconciliation, The Path.
Developed by NVision Insight Group (NVision), a national Indigenous consultancy—The Path comprises several courses that build upon each other, beginning with Your Journey Through Indigenous Canada. Participants can register as a group, or as individuals, and NVision delivers modules online or in person.
NVision named the program, The Path, after being inspired by the words of Senator Murray Sinclair at the release of the TRC’s report and Calls to Action: “We have described for you a mountain. We have shown you the path to the top. We call on you to do the climbing.”
Pathways clients and candidates who register in The Path are eligible to take the course at a discounted rate. Pathways will also donate 10 percent of the registration fees to an Indigenous charity.
“We believe registering for The Path is one step we can take together toward reconciliation and moving forward in truth,” “says Laurie Sterritt, Pathways’ Managing Partner. “Our team has used The Path and we always recommend it to people looking for resources to support their reconciliation journeys.”
Jennifer David, producer and facilitator of The Path, continues, “Reconciliation can be transformational, when willing Canadians take the time to listen to Indigenous perspectives and history, work to unlearn cultural biases and stereotypes, and then move forward with meaningful commitments that contribute to systemic change.”
