Meet Jennifer: Search Associate & Project Administration

Ask members of the team about Jennifer and they’ll talk about her positive can-do attitude and her chickens (yes, you read that correctly).

With more than 18 years of administrative management experience, Jenn is an integral part of Pathways operations, providing research and project administration support to the entire team.

“The positive energy Jenn brings to Pathways is always appreciated,” says the company’s Managing Partner, Laurie Sterritt. “Her approach truly exemplifies the team culture we espouse.”

Jenn began her executive recruitment work in an admin role, soon becoming a Search Associate. Now she’s enrolled in the University of Winnipeg’s Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (PACE) program, working towards obtaining her diploma in human resource management.

“I’m very excited about the new career path I’m on and am so thankful to work for an organization that supports my growth and development. They are cheering me on at every step of the way!”

Reality is, Jenn’s not hard to support and applaud! “Jenn shines in her willingness to take on any task, including learning new things if that’s what’s needed,” says Mike Eagar, one of Pathways’ three partners. “She also has a depth of understanding about everyone’s role on the team and has been able to create a sense of stability and balance around us, no matter what we’re juggling.”

Darrin Jamieson, another partner, agrees. “Jenn is very open to our different styles and works hard to support us all in ways that make sense for every individual, as well as the team. That’s invaluable! She speaks up with openness and honesty and does everything with enthusiasm and a smile.”

When asked how she motivates herself at work, Jenn’s commitment to what she does really comes through. “I feel incredibly honoured I get to participate in changing the landscape of corporate Canada by supporting the recruitment of Indigenous talent.” She continues, “I am so passionate about the work we do at Pathways and when we are successful in placing Indigenous candidates, it’s all the motivation I need to keep doing what I do!”

Raised on the East Coast, Jenn now lives and works from her home in rural Manitoba. She loves spending time with her family, including her young son, Austin. And then there’s the chickens.

“Jenn always has a fun story to share about her chickens’ recent shenanigans,” says Mike. Which isn’t surprising – there are 12 of them and they’ve all got names. When she’s not tending to her flock in the home and the coop, Jenn is out hunting for old items to repurpose into flower beds for her garden.

Thanks for everything you do for the team, Jenn!
